Who would have believed when looking at this photograph that I would become an author!  No-one has been more surprised than me.   I hope you enjoy reading my first book as much as I did writing it.

I am a 60+ year old wife of 35 odd years to a dedicated and patient man, have 1 son and 1 step-daughter, who in turn have produced 2 grandchildren. Add to the family my Mother-in-law, aged 95 (at the start of writing this book), one brother,  and one sister,and a rescue cat.

I am an ordinary woman born in 1951 in Mombasa, East Africa, during colonial years as the youngest of 3 children. We moved to Eldoret in Kenya and then finally to Tabora in Tanzania before coming home to England in the early 1960s, (I was 10 years old,) where I have remained on the South Coast and built my life.

Life is Just a Bowl of Choices is my first book and I am working on a follow-up.

Hilary Sinclair is interested, like so many people today, in the crucial balance of body, mind and spirit and is still waiting for that integration! Exposure to intense spiritual pressure in a fundamentalist Christian Fellowship contributed to a severe mental breakdown in the eighties, which opened the gates to a more tranquil and contemplative life. 

Discovering Ken Wllber’s Integral (AQUAL) world view led to an expanded consciousness which gave her the courage to publish this small volume of poems. Sinclair is a qualified spiritual director and graduate teacher ( long since retired) She originally worked in the field of psychodynamic and group psychotherapy and graduated from the University of Cambridge in the UK.

She has always loved poetry, including works by Kathleen Raine, Emily Bronte, and John Keats. Her mystic’ consciousness was first triggered as a teenager, by reading Simone Weil.

ABOUT THE BOOK(S):

These poems reflect an ongoing awareness journey. The search began via personal psychotherapy and encounter groups in a secular perspective in the seventies, predictably morphing into spiritual concerns. An intense involvement as a Christian later transcended into a more all-embracing vision. The poems, few though they are, are a natural expression of that journey. 

The Yearning Heart offers contemplative poems and a universal consciousness for anyone with an open and interested heart. A spiritual journey across each page, these poems are not bound by time or place, and offer a macro approach to emotional experience, resonating with any and all. With over twenty different poems, this collection certainly covers a full range of topics and reflective perspectives. From nature to God, from 9/11 to our galaxies, this has been a work in progress since 1977.

He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, where he received his bachelor’s degree in business management with an emphasis in marketing; he also graduated from the Grace Theological Seminary and Institute with a master of divinity degree. 

Rev. Miller is the father of two sons, Dorian and Donovan, and he believes that his calling is to serve and teach God’s people the basic principles of God through Jesus Christ, expanding the kingdom one soul at a time.

Through his work and study as a mind-body mentor and success coach, author Marios Skarvellis has discovered humans collectively experience the same emotions, stress, depression, loneliness, and fears, but on different levels of awareness and attitude. The common enemy is the inner demons that continually challenge us.

My grandmother on my father’s side wrote poetry, so I guess I inherited this wonderful gift from her. Unfortunately, she didn’t publish her work; so when she died, her poems died with her. Sadly, I didn’t get the chance or opportunity to read any of her work. What a loss!

Kate holds an undergraduate degree from Barnard College, Columbia University in Economics, and was certified as a Professional Hypnotherapist (2013) from IACT(International Association of Counselors and Therapists). These two seemingly diverse careers occurred during her 30 plus years of immersion and ongoing exploration of self-hypnosis, and by connecting to and recording messages from her spirit guide. 

In her most recent work before retirement, Kate was a Deputy Manager at Brown Brothers Harriman & C0. and a Managing Director at Sandler O’Neill Partners, LP. She retired at age 40, less than a month before 9/11/01, the day of the September attacks, where she worked at Two World Trade Center, 104 Floor, and where 68 of her co-workers perished and transitioned on.

While Kate adored the work, the long hours and constant travel took a toll on her physical body. Wherein she entered her second career--professional patient. She excelled in this field as well, picking up over 40 medical titles (diseases/conditions.) Working with her guides, and other master healers, Kate further expanded and honed her healing skills, easily flowing through four, terminal conditions.

   In 2003, Kate founded Kate's Holistic Healing of New York.* As a certified hypnotherapist, she works with an adult population. Her area of expertise is working with adults who have acute/chronic medical and emotional conditions. Through hypnotherapy, clients are taught to use their own bodies' natural power to heal. Hypnotherapy is simply a miraculous, natural way to return the body to its proper healthy state with only positive side effects.
